We design with a classic, timeless sensibility, layering natural materials, rich textures, and considered details to create spaces that feel warm and complete. Beautiful, yes — but never precious. Our homes are made for real life: for kids, for pets, for dinner parties and Sunday mornings and everything in between.
Meet the Designer
Kara VaccaKara is a New Jersey-based interior designer with over a decade of experience creating homes that are as livable as they are beautiful.
A graduate of Virginia Tech's Residential Environments & Design Program, Kara began her career working for interior design and architecture firms in New York City, New Jersey, and Virginia — gaining experience across both modern and traditional practices. That foundation gave her something most designers spend years trying to develop: the ability to move fluidly between aesthetics, blending classic sensibility with fresh, contemporary thinking to create spaces that feel timeless rather than trend-driven.
In 2015, she founded Kara Theresa Design with a clear vision — to build a firm where the client always comes first and the work speaks for itself. What started with carefully chosen multi-room projects has grown into a full-service studio specializing in whole-home renovations and new construction, with a portfolio built almost entirely on referrals and word of mouth.
Kara is known for her keen eye for detail, her instinct for layering materials and texture, and above all, her ability to listen. She believes the best interiors aren't designed — they're uncovered, through honest conversation and a deep understanding of how a family actually lives. The result is always the same: a home that feels complete, considered, and entirely theirs.
Kara Theresa Design is based in Monmouth County, New Jersey, and works with clients throughout the state and beyond.
